What causes the orange buildup in my shower?

Well that orange and pink build up is normally either in the grout or around the door of stand up showers. It can also be found in grout on the walls of the shower, drains, sinks as well as toilet bowls. You may think it's just rust- but it's actually bacteria that likes and feeds off of moist areas. You can prevent this from occurring as much by regularly cleaning your shower/bath/toilets/sinks.
When not using eco-friendly cleaners for clients I use Clorox bleach toilet gel. I simply just run it over the grout or spots that have large amounts of buildup and let it sit while I clean the rest of the house. By the time I finish and go back to it- it's set long enough that you can scrub it out. I mean you're still going to need to use some elbow grease but at least it saved you over an hour and a half in scrubbing! You'll be thanking me after you try this yourself!
